The meeting should be held weekly and last for 90 minutes. This meeting is designed to help senior leadership solve issues and challenges, and to keep everyone on track with updates and to-do items.
What to talk about in a Leadership meeting?
1. Check in (5 min)
This is a time for everyone to briefly update the group on what's been going on in their world since the last meeting. This helps everyone feel up-to-date and included, and it also allows the group to identify any potential issues early on.
2. Scorecard (5 min)
This is a quick review of the company's performance against its goals. This helps everyone understand how the company is doing overall, and identify any areas that need improvement.
3. Rock updates (5 min)
This is a brief update on the status of the company's most important projects, or "rocks." This helps everyone stay focused on the most important things and makes sure that everyone is on track.
4. Client / employee headlines (5 min)
This is a quick update on any major news or developments with clients or (other) employees. This helps the team stay informed and identify any potential issues early.
5. To-do list (5 min)
This is a review of the to-do items from the previous meeting. This helps the team stay on track and make sure that all items are being addressed.
6. Issues list: identify, discuss, solve (60 min)
The first half of this section is where the team identifies and discusses any issues or challenges. This is the time to brainstorm solutions and come up with a plan of action.
The second half of this section is where you work on the issue or challenge. At this point, the solution should be decided, and the action items should be written down.
7. Wrap up (5 min)
This is a brief summary of the meeting and a review of the action items. This helps the team stay focused and on track, and ensures that everyone knows what needs to be done.
